You can very easily drive right through Wiarton, Ontario without even knowing it. The small town on the Bruce Penninsula is minutes away from well-known Sauble Beach and is famous for the legendary groundhog, Wiarton Willie. You know, the fluffy, white, utterly beloved animal who for years has emerged from his home each February to predict how soon Spring will arrive.
I drove into the small town on a warm Sunday evening to meet with Marcia and Nick, an engaged couple from Ottawa immediately awesome for three reasons: Their easy disposition, their obvious love for one another, and their partner dance moves (which they practice at home).
The two are very clearly best friends and partners, completely at ease around one another – Marcia seems most comfortable with her head nestled in Nick’s chest. From beginning to end, it was nearly impossible to keep the couple from giggling, not because they were uncomfortable in front of the camera, but because giddy seems to be their default setting.
After meeting Nick’s incredibly sweet family, we loaded up the old school Cadillac and were off to see the tiny, dreamy town – and snap a few photos in the process.
